Why should the House consume its time to debate Hawaii before we act upon the measure when we have three times previously frustrated the attempts of that body to confer statehood on Hawaii? Are we to signify to the Asiatic peoples of the world that Hawaii is not to become a State because a minority of the Congress questions the racial complexion of Hawaii? Do not the Americans in Hawaiiand 85 percent of Hawaiians are nativeborn American citizensdeserve the same full rights of citizenship which we have just conferred upon Alaskans. Caucasians.
