PORKERT The bill for the relief of Mrs. Hildegard Porkert was considered. ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. read the third time. and passed. as follows: Be it enacted. etc.. That. for the purposes of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Mrs. Hildegard Porkert shall be held and considered to have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence as of the date of the enactment of this act. upon payment of the required visa fee. Upon the granting of permanent residence to such alien as provided for in this act. the Secretary of State shall instruct the proper quotacontrol officer to deduct one number from the approproiate quota for the first year that such quota is available. The bill for the relief of Leobardo Castaneda Vargas was considered. ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. read the third time. and passed. as follows: Be it enacted. etc.. That the Attorney General is authorized and directed to discontinue any deportation proceedings and to cancel any outstanding order and warrant of deportation. warrant of arrest. and bond. which may have been issued in the case of Leobardo Castaneda Vargas. From and after the date of enactment of this act. the said Leobardo Castaneda Vargas shall not again be subject to deportation by reason of the same facts upon which such deportation proceedings were commenced or any such warrants and order have issued.
