But I feel we must do more than that. We must take positive action. Through the United Nations. we must * support a firm policy to help Lithuania and all the other captive nations of eastern Europe to regain their freedom and independence. We must make it possible to bring more refugees from these countries to the United States. The Americans of Lithuanian descent have added much to A 1706 our culture and will continue to do so if given the opportunity. We must do everything possible to assist in safeguarding the cultural heritage of Lithuania. whose language and literature are among the oldest in the Western World.
