CLARK The Senate proceeded to consider the bill for the relief of Mrs. Fumi Ishikawa Clark. which had been reported from the Committee on the Judiciary. with an amendment. in line 3. after the word "the". to strike out "provision of section 212 (a) (12)" and insert "provisions of sections 212 (a) (9) and 212 (a) (12)". so as to make the bill read: Be it enacted. etc.. That. notwithstanding the provisions of sections 212 (a) (9) and 212 (a) (12) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Mrs. Fumi Ishikawa Clark may be issued a visa and admitted to the United States for permanent residence if she is found to be otherwise admissible under the provisions of that act: Provided. That this exemption shall apply only to a ground for exclusion of which the Department of State or the Department of Justice had knowledge prior to the enactment of this act.
