President. at this time we in the Senate are making ready to consider legislation amending the McCarranWalter Act. I am pleased to be a cosponsor of S. 2410. of which the principal author is the distinguished junior Senator from Massachusetts . This is a bill to liberalize certain restrictive features of our immigration code. At such an horn it is well for us to appreciate the many great contributions to the economy and culture of our Nation by immigrants. One such person. of whom we are particularly proud in my own State. is the distinguished conductor.
