Mr. President. the renewed interest in the most nettling problem of the Near East. that of the Palestine Arab refugees. is long overdue. I welcome the suggestion of my friend and colleague. the Senator from Minnesota . concerning this very great and important subject. and for perceiving. as he obviously does. its critical influence on the effort to bring about peace and stability in that great area. I came to exactly the conclusion expressed by the Senator from Minnesota. The Senator knows I have a very deep interest in the area and in its problems. and that I have constantly tried to get something done.
