President. on March 8. 1957. the Senate passed S. 687. to grant the status of permanent residence in the United States to the beneficiary. On April 17. 1957. the House of Representatives passed S. 687. with an amendment to grant a waiver of the grounds of inadmissibility in behalf of the beneficiary. By departing from the United States. the beneficiary will be able to qualify for a nonquota visa to reenter the United States for permanent residence. as the spouse of a United States citizen. The amendment is acceptable. and is In accordance with the recent policy in connection with cases of this kind. I move that the Senate concur in the House amendment to S. 687.
