I have decided to answer as briefly as possible some of the major questions which are being asked by the people across the country. In attempting this task. I am not assuming the role of an expertfar from it. It is true that I spent some time in the MidEast in 1953 in the conduct of intensive study of the Arab refugee problem as a representative of the Refugee and Immigration Subcommittees of the Senate Judiciary Committee. As my colleagues know. I have also taken an active interest in foreign affairs during all of the 10 years I have been in the Senate.
