Its contributions to American life. and its accomplishments. have all been of profound social significance. On this 60th anniversary. its many friends wish for the PTA an active and fruitful future. The needs for better schools and more of them are acute. The necessity for combatting the influences that cause delinquency and discrimination is clear. Library. recreation. and health services must be expanded. The forgotten children of migrant workers must be cared for. Let us hope the PTAs will help to awaken America from its complacency. so that it will offer a full measure of the opportunities and obligations that go with freedom to all of Americas younger citizens.
