Mr. President. in compliance with the Senators request I read from Mr. Fords speech: In the Middle East theres a whole bill of particulars that needs filling out. * * * There has not been much. as yet. to indicate just what we want to do to settle the Arab refugee problem. to bring about a just and lasting settlement of ArabIsraeli disputes and to assure the free international use of the Suez Canal. The American public is just as much in the dark about what we propose to do in these situations as anybody else in the world. All we know for sure is that no one but us can ultimately bring about a solution of these problemsexcept possibly the Russians.
