President. in the New York Times of Thursday. July 12. there appeared an editorial entitled. "The Hoover Proposals." This editorial very properly calls attention to the fact that Congress should act on certain of these proposals before it adjourns this year. The first is the executive pay bill. which is aimed to provide adequate compensation for those in the Government employ who are making real personal sacrifices in leaving their respective businesses in order to serve in this time of need. It has been most unfortunate to have lost the services of Surgeon General Scheele and Refugee relief program. status of visa applications. July 6. 1956
