Yet they were dedicated to the advancement of education. science. the arts. and the Christian faith. From the time when the first group of Norwegian immigrants arrived in New York on October 9. 1825. the sons and daughters of Norway have contributed much to the United States. They did not take this new land for granted. They came to love it. and always sought to make it a better land by their contributions to society.
