The traditions of freedom are part of the Greek classic tradition. Today. in observing this Independence Day. we pay tribute also to the greatness that was Greece. is Greece. and. I trust. will always be Greece. There is much that the United States Government can and should do to help our Greek friends. not only in the matter of Cyprus. but also in the field of immigration reform. to permit a greater number of Greeks to emigrate to this country. I hope that by the time the next Greek Independence Day comes around. we will have made meaningful progress in this direction.
