In reviewing this epic struggle which is commemorated today. it is my hope that the many millions of liberty loving patriots behind the Iron Curtain today. together with the other millions in the free world outside of Hungary who are of Hungarian lineage. will. on this occasion be strengthened and. heartened anew by this commemoration to the principles of freedom for which they have previously so valiantly fought. and an effort in which the United States joins them on this day.
