Session #84 · 1955–57

Speech #840126748

Mr. President. on July 18. 1955. the Senate passed S. 97. S. 1368. and S. 1540. all of which would consider as constructive residence for naturalization purposes. certain temporary absences from the United States of the beneficiaries. On February 7. 1956. the House of. Representatives passed S. 97. with amendments to include the beneficiaries of S. 1368 and S. 1540. This is in line with the new policy of the House of Representatives to include the names of several beneficiaries of private bills into one bill and to shorten the time required for the consideration of private bills. I move that the Senate concur in the House amendments.
