Speech #840123957

I could not be your guest of honor tonight except for the friendship and efforts of men and women from every walk of life and from every section of our community. I wish I could reach out and clasp your hand In thankfulness for the spiritual warmth of your hearts. If I could do so. it would not be Hulan E. Jack. president of the Borough of Manhattan speaking. but an immigrant boy of 16 who came to a glorious land and was given the opportunity of sharing the priceless relationship with so many. many unforgettable friends. From the deepest corners of our hearts. my wife. Mira and I. reach out and embrace every one of you with a prayer of thankfulness.
