Session #84 · 1955–57

Speech #840114502

Robison has done over a period of many years for Israel. for members of the Jewish faith and for humanity. He also pointed out that Mr. Robison is the greatgreatgrandson of a German immigrant and that his grandfather. a Civil War captain. was the first member of his faith ever awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Mr. Robisons remarks on the occasion were so typically modest and inspiring that I include them in the Appendix of the RECORD: It is a strange paradox that at this moment. one of the most important in my entire life. there is a mixture both of deep appreciation of the honor you have bestowed upon me. and a profound feeling of the insignificance of any one persons efforts in a wordshaking and worldchanging cause.
