Speech #840113334

Inserted also in the RECORD for the benefit of Members of the House are the views of a person intimately concerned with the problems of such people as these Polish seamen. This person prepared a special report based on 2 or 3 of his interviews with each and every Polish sailor who remained in Formosa. An extract of his report follows: "The boys complained distinctly about the fact that their immigration status in this country has not been settled. They said that they were informed on their departure from Formosa that they would be given the right of permanent residence and that. following this right. they would be able to continue to serve as seamen. Many of them would like to continue in their profession.
