President. I ask unanimous consent to have printed in the RECORD a proclamation by the Honorable G. Mennen Williams. Governor of the great State of Michigan. designating May 10. 1955. as Rumanian Independence Day. to commemorate Rumanian independence from Turkey. achieved on May 10. 1881. The eminent Governor of Michigan urges all Americans to aid persons newly arrived in the United States. to the end that not only the oppressed Rumanian immigrantts be helped to a measure of security. but that all enslaved peoples behind the Iron Curtain may have a measure of encouragement to sustain their desire for freedom.
