Speech #840032909

The employees have had four raises already in the last 7 years. There are several of those. and I will only read one of them. These next letters remind me of an immigrant farmer who had come to the United States and who had decided to become a citizen. He appeared before a magistrate for his naturalization papers. The offlcal asked him. "Do you like this country?" "Oh. sure." said the applicant. And then the question. "Does our government suit you in every way?" With some hesitation the immigrant said. "Well. pretty much. but I would like only to see it a little more rain." Now we are getting in that position here. "Oh. yes. I want a pay raise. but. of course. I would like to see a little bit more." Here is a letter I received from a Post Office employee down at Natalia.
