I have the floor for the moment. I know Mr. Davies. Long before emigrants from Ireland came to this country. the ancestors of Mr. Davies and his wife were in California. He is patriotic. Someone says he is not patriotic. but communistic. Yesterday the junior Senator from Wisconsin accused six good Americans of being procommunistic. I do not like it. I do not intend to have it occur on the floor of the Senate any more. The junior Senator from Wisconsin may object. . I wish the junior Senator from Wisconsin had been in the Chamber day before yesterday. when I placed in the Appendix of the daily REcoRD an editorial from the Washington Star. which I am sure no one would accuse of being a Communist newspaper.
