Mr. President. I should like to state the reasons for my objection when the calendar was last called. Perhaps in the eyes of some. the junior Senator from Tennessee has been arbitrary. but in the consideration of measures on the calendar it is necessary to have some broad rules. I have been objecting to the passage of bills which admit to this country female immigrants of fertile age who are feebleminded. I believe that is a proper protection for the United States. In this particular case there are unusual circumstances involved. As the case has been described to me. this young lady is not feebleminded in the usual sense of the word.
