Session #83 · 1953–55

Speech #830197259

They have been on the calendar session after session. At each session they are reintroduced. and it is necessary to appoint a subcommittee and for the subcommittee to take testimony on them. It has become quite a nuisance. There are many deportation cases. which come up year after year. Such a bill will come up during one session but fail of passage. and 2 years later the same bill is introduced. with the result that the Judiciary Committee has to hold hearings on it every other year. The Judiciary Committee has made up its mind to get rid of everyone of those alien cases.
