There is no doubt that the Senator from Idaho is entirely correct as to the need for these Basque sheepherders. for several reasons. First. they are the worlds outstanding sheepherders. No one anywhere in the world in the sheep industry knows as much about sheep as does the Basque. and no one else is better suited temperamentally to the work of sheepherding. The Senator from Idaho has referred to one point which I wish to emphasize. It is true. is it not. that the immigration authorities and other Federal authorities have investigated these particular individuals and given them complete clearance from the standpoint of security and other eligibility factors for admission into the country. aside from their failure to meet the socalled immigration quota requirements?
