Back In Berlin we had been fortunate enough to hear that the children were visiting a theater in the Soviet sector of Berlin. We had met them and had persuaded them without too much trouble to follow us to West Berlin. There we applied for visas at the American Consulate. In the meantime I had flown back to Boston to get back on my job and to prepare for the homecoming. I was happy to learn that the visas had been issued 4 weeks later. However. another disappointment was yet to come. I will never forget the day when I waited at the Logan International Airport for my new family.
