I will state to the gentleman that is not what the bill says. The bill says Congress favors the suspension of deportation in the case of each alien hereinafter named. in which case the Attorney General has suspended deportation for more than 6 months. The Attorney General. because we have introduced bills in the Congress for the purpose of retaining them. and suspending our immigration laws. has withheld action for 6 months. Now we come in with this bill to tell him we will suspend permanently the laws under which these people come into the country for the purpose of retaining them.
