Mr. Chairman. this last amendment provides the same number of visas. 2.000. for refugees in the Near East. They are being assisted by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. For a person to be eligible for assistance by this agency. the criteria are these: First. he must be a former resident of the part of Palestine which is now Israel. second. he must have lost his home. third. he must have lost his opportunity to make a living. There are two explosive situations in Asia today: One is around the China Sea.
