National labor organizations in the United States endorse the proposal to issue 236.000 special quota immigrant visas. It is a small gesture on our part. but one tflat will offer some hope to overcrowded nations. and to the escapees from communism. Germans. Italians. Greeks. Dutch. Polish. and others are covered by this bill which will open the door to a few more refugees: will alleviate the presmires in countries that are friendly toward us: and will strengthen our foreign policy by proving that we are willing to provide sanctuary for those who have made such sacrifices seeking freedom. Other nations like Canada. Australia. and those in Latin America are doing their share.
