Speech #830089071

The junior Senator from Idaho has gone on record as opposing S. 1917. which permits bringing into the United States approximately 220.000 unfortunate refugees or immigrants. It will not look well for me to go back to Kellogg or Wallace. Idaho. or to Stibnite. Idaho. and say to those people who are unemployed. and who have given their very lives to hard rock miningand hard rock mining is a pro fession. it is not possible to pick hard rock miners up on the streetthat I voted to bring in 220.000 people from Europe when there are people within my own State begging for relief.
