Singapore. and even Indonesia would become more vulnerable to the Communistpower drive. and Ceylon. India. and Pakistan would find it difficult to maintain the freedom of action which they envisage for themselves in Asia. An Asiatic Communist empire holding the IndochineseMalay Peninsula together with Indonesiacontrolling over 90 percent of the worlds natural rubber and some 60 percent of its tin and dominating the great shipping lanes of the Pacific and containing some 150 million peoplecould deal powerful blows to the economy of the free world. Communism would then be in an excellent position to complete its perversion of the political and social revolution that is spreading through Asia. The resultant world of fear and insecurity would indeed be a tragic one in which to live.
