Session #83 · 1953–55

Speech #830049332

Mr. President. I have received this morning from Father Aloysius J. Wycislo. assistant executive director for war relief services of the National Catholic Welfare Conference. a very gracious letter with regard to the introduction of S. 1917. to carry out President Eisenhowers program for emergency immigration visas. The letter transmitted a resolution signed by representatives of various organizations deeply interested in that matter. It is my earnest hope that the hearings which are to be conducted on this legislation will be carried through and. although it is rather late in the session. that definitive action will be taken. I ask unanimous consent that the letter and resolution be printed at this point in the RECORD. and be thereafter appropriately referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
