Speech #830013119

T. R. Fivel. He lists the enactment of the McCarranWalter Act as an event which has "caused renewed flurries of antiAmerican feeling" in England. No similar action by the United States. he said. "for many a day has received such unanimous criticism in the entire British press." It is not my purpose to repeat on the Senate floor other complaints registered against the law and its application. They will be found in the RECORD. I do want to take this occasion. however. to say that I am deeply aggrieved at the nature of the debate on the McCarranWalter Immigration Act.
