The strength of the free world has increased greatly in the past 5 yeard as has the determination to extend to all enslaved peoples the boon of freedom. The most concrete way in which the United States can immediately express its admiration and sympathy for this brave nation is by extending a helping hand to those Czechoslovakians who have fled from behind the Iron Curtain. These refugees from tyranny are the representatives of their less fortunate countrymen. We must welcome our fair share of them to this country and assure that all of them find safe haven and an opportunity for livelihood. For this purpose we in the United States must strive for early revision of the McCarran Immigration Act. This is one positive thing we can do now for the people of Czechoslovakia and for the cause of freedom throughout the world.
