Originally I did give notice in regard to a Saturday session. but I qualified it by saying. "If we do not finish the immigration bill before then." Under those circumstances. inasmuch as the announcement was qualified in that way. some Senators now object to having a Saturday session. It was thought that the defense housing bill could be disposed of today. but that it would require some time. I first said the Senate would meet at 10 oclock today. However. Senators expressed the opinion that the defense housing bill could be passed easily within half a day. So the Senate met at 12 oclock.
