What Is our longrange military program. where is it leading us? Obviously. in Korea. there are three alternatives: Admit defeat and pull out. continue a war of attrition. reinforce and win. The American people have a right to know what to expect. My reaction is if we do not intend to win. it is better to pull out and admit defeat than to continue the sacrifice of American lives and treasure with no hope of a military decision. My further reaction is that so far as possible we should fight the Reds in Korea with our Asiatic allies. Gen. Chiang Kaisheks troops could largely replace our ground forces.
