We want to take care of the problem once and for all. as far as we can properly take care of it. We want to do our share. In the past few weeks I have been sitting -on the Senate Appropriations Subcommitten on the State Department. The United States contribution to the International Refugee Organization. commonly called the IRO. is handled by that Department. The State Department in asking for this appropriation bases it on winding up the IRO by March 31. 1951. It has given the committee a letter in addition to its testimony that this Is positively the last appropriation that will be asked for the IRO.
