In order to have the figures corrected. I should like to read into the RECORD at this point a paragraph from Report No. 476. from the Committee on Expenditures in the Executive Departments. written with respect to the IRO. in June of this year. I read subparagraph (c) on page 12: It is estimated that by June 30. 1949. approximately 72.500 displaced persons and refugees will have entered the United States for resettlement since December 1945. Of this number. approximately 44.000 entered pursuant to executive action within existing statutory authority. The balance. of approximately 38.000 will have been admitted under the Displaced Persons Act of 1948.
