Mr. Chairman. I beg the close attention of the Members of the House. There are between two and onehalf and three million migrant farm workers in this country. In California alone there are approximately 350.000 migrants. Migrant farm labor is not protected by social legislation that protects other workers. They are not covered by the socialsecurity law. they are not covered by unemployment compensation. they are not covered by the wagehour law. The children of migratory workers. for the most part. are not able to go to school. They do not have roots in any community. When they are sick. they cannot go to the county hospital.
