Session #81 · 1949–51

Speech #810085685

Mr. President. from the argument of the Senator from Nevada. it seems that he feels very keenly about this particular matter. I also feel keenly about it. I feelthat there is a problem of immigration to be studied. There is a question of unlawful entry into this country which should be gone into very carefully. There is also a question as to the men and women who are here. and a question of why the countries from which they came will not accept them. These are very grave questions. Those persons are allowed in this country to be free citizens. even though they should be later returned to their native countries.
