This increase. throughout the Nation. particularly in the civil cases. has been due to operation of the Federal Tort Claims Act. the Fair Labor Standards Act. the Federal Employees Liability Act. the Jones Act. the various antitrust laws. the Food and Drug Acts. diversity of citizenship cases. land condemnation. income tax. housing. rent control. immigration and naturalization and so forth. You know as well as I do that the case loads I have indicated in some of these districts are entirely too heavy.
