Number to be admitted: The number of displaced persons to be admitted would be increased from 205.000 in 2 years to 339.000 in 3 years. This number would include 5.000 orphans. 4.000 Shanghai refugees. 18.000 veterans of the Polish army in England. and 15.000 displaced persons who entered Italy or the American. British. or French zones or sectors of Germany or Austria since January 1. 1946. and whose admission to this country is recommended by the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense. Second.
