Mr. President. as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee during the Eightieth Congress. I have received a progress report from the Immigration Subcommittee. This subcommittee was headed by the former junior Senator from West Virginia. Mr. Revercomb. The progress report will. I believe. be very helpful to Members of Congress in their review of the controversial and complicated immigration and displaced persons problems. All of us. I am sure. are seeking the answer to the immigration and displaced persons problema problem with grave humanitarian aspects. and one which we want careful consideration given from the standpoint of discharging our obligation to the foreign peoples and from the standpoint of national security. I. therefore. send to the desk. a copy of this progress report and ask that it be appropriately numbered and printed.
