Too many amendments will weaken the bill. I specifically exempted the gentleman from my remarks. I think his amendment might serve a very useful purpose. but I think it should more properly come as a separate bill. or possibly in an amendment to the immigration laws enlarging the quotas. particularly with regard to the Polish quota. That particular quota is so small. that tens of thousands of decent and honorable Polish nationals cannot come into this country. where they have relatives and friends anxious for them to join them afid begin life anew. But I repeat. it should not be done by amending this bill.
