There is a large class of people. most of whom are now in Germany. who are designated as expellees. They have been expelled from these surrounding countries. There are about ten or fifteen million of these expellees. About 1.300.000 people technically are displaced persons. but these expellees are also refugees and are really displaced persons. The reason they are not classified as displaced persons is because the IRO constitution provides that nobody expelled from these countries who are of German ethnic origin may be so classified. As a result. there is nobody of German ethnic origin who may be classified under the technical description as a displaced person.
