I was a member of the Committee on Immigration for 24 years. having served from 1907 to 1931. and helped to pass many of the restrictive immigration laws. so I know something about immigration and what it has done. not to the country. but for the country. We have in this country a few publicists and lobbyists who have been poisoning the minds of the American people against immigration for many years. Well. I have read history and gone back to 1800. a hundred and fifty years ago. when this country had a population of about three or four million people.
