All I am trying to do is to have the act provide thatAll persons of German ethnic origin who were born in Poland. Czechoslovakia. Hungary. Rumania. or Yugoslavia. and who on the effective date of this act reside in and are citizens of Germany or Austria. shall. for the purposes of the immigration laws of the United States. be deemed to have been born in Germany or Austria. So that if my second amendment is adopted a quota of 27.000 such persons will be permitted to enter the United States. I am not trying to make displaced persons out of them.
