But we must remember that we are discussing displaced persons. Several times in the debate the suggestion has been made that the benefit of the bill should be extended to persons who are not displaced persons. Displaced persons are those who were the victims of the Nazi or the Fascist regimes. So far as I am concerned. I believe the bill ought to be limited to those who are properly displaced persons. and that others including those who are the concern of the amendment offered by the Senator from New York should be considered by an amendment to the regular immigration law.
