Session #80 · 1947–49

Speech #800110339

I shall be glad if he will do so. But I wish to say that the matter has been taken up by the Judiciary Committee. The Judiciary Committee has jurisdiction exclusively over immigration. That does not. however. make the committee feel that it would not be willing to accept advice and assistance from representatives of the Foreign Relations Committee and the Armed Services Committee. We want to hear them. We are glad to have them be with us as advisers. But the matter of jurisdiction of the matter of immigration remains in the Judiciary Committee. and the Judiciary Committee decided on. the program the other day.
