President. but have already been posed by bills which have been introduced in this session of the Congressbills which can be properly considered only in the light of facts developed by a thoroughgoing study and investigation. At this point. Mr. President. may I say that there have been introduced in the House and Senate during this session over 60 general immigration bills. ranging all the way from total exclusion of all immigrants to the complete elimination of immigration barriers. Mr. President. of the 60 bills. 22 are today pending In the Committee on the Judiciary. Two bills I know of would stop the entry of aliens into this country for a period of 5 years.
