President. I have a statement to make. which I think should be in the RECORD. I have before me a letter from the National Catholic Welfare Conference. in which the director of its bureau of immigration refers to the case of an Italian woman who came to this country in 1926. at the age of 15. and acquired American citizenship through her fathers naturalization in 1928. In September 1937 she went to Italy and married an Italian. It was the Intention of the young couple to come to the United States following the marriage. but they were obliged to delay their plans due to the illness of the husbands parents.
